The recent growth and expansion of the premium and free TV and movie streaming industry in India has been nothing short of impressive. Over the last few years, we've seen a wealth of high-quality streaming sites pop up all over the country, making India one of the cornerstones of streaming entertainment in the world. Not only have they been lucky in the sense that India, seemingly overnight, has become one of the top streaming countries in the world, but they have all been of a high quality, too, which has made India the new home to some of the best streaming sites available on the market today!
There are a handful of different types of Indian streaming sites available, including free TV streaming sites and new Over The Top (OTT) cable TV streaming services that provide a breadth of live TV streaming as well as a vast library of on-demand content. India has also seen the expansion of its own group of premium streaming services, which are meant to compete directly with services such as Netflix and Hulu.
No matter which route you choose, at the end of the day, India wins. These companies may be in competition with one another, sure, but all that means to entertainment lovers such as us is that we have more options available - more movie and TV streaming sites that are vying for our subscriptions - therefore, each service is constantly stepping its game up, trying to offer the best selection of content at the best prices. There has never been a better time to watch TV, that?s for sure.
One of the pioneers of bringing the best TV streaming products to India is Airtel. That's right, in addition to being one of the most popular and widely used phone providers, Airtel is also responsible for some of the most innovative and exciting movie and TV streaming sites, apps, and products available in India today. Given their history with communications infrastructure and hardware, this has given Airtel a leg up on the competition, allowing them to offer what is essentially a self-contained, end to end streaming cable network to millions of people across India (and abroad).
Airtel Xstream is a lot more than just a premium TV streaming service. In a broad sense, it's that. But if you don't want to explore all of the other Airtel Xstream products, you can just download the free app and be done with it. However, Airtel Xstream's available products go above and beyond just an app.
I think that Airtel Xstream is kind of like Roku in some ways. They both offer a streaming app and desktop TV streaming site, but Airtel Xstream also offers a plug-in stick. Just like the Roku stick, plug the Airtel Xstream stick into your TV's HDMI port and sit back as your TV transforms into a streaming entertainment powerhouse, all of which can be controlled with the stick's complimentary Airtel Xstream remote control. The best part about this? It's mobile, so you can access your Xstream content on any TV, no matter where you are.
If you're looking for an even more expansive and interactive Airtel Xstream experience, you can always purchase the Airtel Xstream box. This device plugs into your TV and connects to the internet to bring you movies, add-on apps, games, music, and TV channels. This device is also compatible with Chrome Cast and has a handy voice command and search feature.
Finally, for those of us who require a more powerful, comprehensive internet and entertainment experience, there is Airtel Xstream Fiber. Branded as an extremely powerful ?office-like? internet service, Fiber provides you with 1 Gbps internet speeds with unlimited data, WIFI phone calling, and a fixed landline. Oh, and, of course, Airtel Xstream Fiber also comes with the fully unlocked premium TV streaming capabilities. This is how many customers get the most out of Airtel Xstream. In my estimation though, it may not be entirely necessary unless you have an extremely large family or run a business (just my opinion). Either way, this internet service is unrivaled in terms of speed and connectivity.
Considering that Airtel Xstream is the most basic service offered by the company, it would seem as though it could be a great option for those looking to stream television shows and movies. However, in order for Airtel Xstream to be the best streaming site for you, there are a few things you will need to take into account. For example, it is important that your internet speed is fast enough in order to allow for smooth streaming; otherwise, you may experience choppy or laggy video playback. Additionally, depending on your device and how connected it is to the internet, you may also need to purchase additional hardware in order to use this service effectively. So does Airtel Xstream really offer the best TV streaming experience in India? Let's take a closer look and find out!
Design
When I visited airtelxstream.in, I found the site to be dynamic, immersive, and intuitive. The site's design looks like Airtel Xstream has borrowed a few design tricks from its competitors (and sometimes its partners), such as Netflix and Hulu. At the top of the page, you will find a site menu bar, which enables you to navigate the site by broad categories. Choose between Movies, Live TV, TV Shows, Kids, News, and Sports. This gives the site a simple and easy to use navigation, which I am always on board with.
Below the site menu bar, you will find a large banner of featured titles. This banner quickly cascades by, providing some good suggestions of what to watch. Keep scrolling down the home page and you will find a fairly familiar layout: horizontally side-scrolling libraries of movies and TV shows, each separated by category. Hover your cursor over one and the title and genre reveals itself. This adds a nice touch of dynamism to the site design, making it more experiential than other TV streaming sites that I have seen.
One interesting twist to the Airtel Xstream design is the fact that one of these menus allows you to browse by popular Bollywood director. I like quirks like this. This is not only a fun way to browse content, but also an additional organizational structure, making it even more intuitive to browse content in many different ways.
Content and Features
Airtel Xstream has a lot of content, including a lot of syndicated content, live TV channels, movies, and special events. There are easily over 10,000 titles available to stream on-demand. If that's not enough for you, Airtel Xstream also provides access to over 350 live TV channels. That's more than any other TV streaming site in India!
Airtel Xstream offers 10,000+ on-demand TV shows and movies to stream, including your favorite programs and films. This includes a hearty selection of exclusive Airtel Xstream originals.
Airtel Xstream is a TV streaming site that offers content in 13 different languages. You can enjoy your favorite shows in Hindi, Tamil, English, Marathi, and more.
Mobile and Desktop Experience
I was impressed by the mobile app's precision when I tested it on a desktop computer and then on a mobile device. The app is available on both iOS and Android devices, and it works perfectly regardless of which one you're using. You can watch live TV or browse Airtel Xstream's 10,000+ movies and TV shows from this app, unlocking a world of entertainment no matter where you are.
Pricing and Plans
Airtel Xstream offers a tiered subscription model. The monthly cost, mind you, of Airtel Xstream services rendered over the stick, the box, or the fiber plan vary greatly and are not reflected here. The prices that I am about to outline are for access to the app and the site only. Although some content can be accessed for free if you are already an Airtel customer, the price for Airtel Xstream Premium is Rs360/month (price depends on your current Airtel Xstream plan).
