It seems to me that it is harder than ever to find a good entertainment or pop culture news site. In my opinion, content is still king, and without interesting and well-written articles, your website will not generate as much online traffic as you may want it too. So make sure to invest time and effort into creating high quality content if you want to succeed in the digital media world.
There is a big problem with the ?content is king? maxim: people have varying definitions of what quality content is. This discrepancy leads to an endless slush pile of content that is little more than sensationalized clickbait. To increase click-through ad revenue, find a headline that stands out and attracts people to your site.
I feel like this article falls into that category. Written in a sloppy way, it's full of unimportant information that isn't likely to be of much use to anyone. In addition, the headline is very misleading since it promises something that is simply not true.
I won't lie- I have fallen prey to clickbait articles too many times. I am all too familiar with that game. And it is always a little bit annoying- to find an article that seems to have so much potential online and then be rerouted to a site that has little of nothing to offer in terms of quality. We have all been there. These links are traps. They are time-sucks. Nothing more, nothing less. And that's why, when it comes to entertainment and pop culture news sites, I care a great deal about providing you, dear reader, with honest and (I hope) interesting reviews. Your time is valuable, so I want to help make sure that you don't waste it on subpar film and TV news sites.
After spending some time perusing a site, it is not always immediately apparent whether it will be beneficial or not. Sometimes you can spend nearly an hour examining a site before you realize that, unfortunately, you have been taken in by clickbait once again. This is, in my opinion, completely unacceptable. That's why I try to provide high-quality content, and also why I devote much of that content to help you discern the sites that are worth your clicks and the sites that try to trap you with them (honk).
There are not a lot of great sites that specialize in Bollywood news, which is a shame because Bollywood is one of the most famed and popular hubs for popular entertainment.
I am today presenting you with a site called the Bestinforoom. The site promises to provide a dependable and regularly updated feed of news pertaining to Indian movies, television, and pop culture. Let's check it out and see if it is truly one of the Bestinforoom, or if it is merely another wormhole of clickbaity and insignificant, subpar content.
History
com) suggests that it is a well-funded operation with the potential to impact the media landscape in a significant way.
Unfortunately, I was not able to find much historical information on Bestinforoom. All I was able to find were the most basic pieces of the puzzle. I have no clue, for instance, who is responsible for this would-be authority on Bollywood news or what their motivations were, etc. All I know is that Bestinforoom launched on July 22nd, 2013 and the fact that Cloud Flare Inc (which is also responsible for sites like Medium, Canva, Instructure, Media Fire, and Chaturbate.com) owns it suggests that it is a well-funded operation with the potential to impact the media landscape in a significant way.
Little is known about the origins of Bestinforoom, but what is important is how it functions currently as a source of Bollywood news and reviews. It appears to be heading in the future with potential to become even more popular.
Design
Bestinforoom does not look terrible. That being said, it is also not great. It is one of those sites that falls in the middle, in terms of its design. It works well enough, sure, and it does not make you want to immediately switch gears when you land on it, but it also does not look so good that you'll be rushing to your phone to tell your friends about it or anything like that. On the whole, the site is just okay. Exceedingly mediocre is the phrase that comes to mind.
The latest news and features are at the top of the page, with four smaller squares for trending stories. Scrolling down the page reveals additional articles for your enjoyment. The site menu bar is at the top of the page for easier navigation. There is nothing interactive or experiential about the site, just standard layout.
Content
So, it is time for the million-dollar question: is Bestinforoom populated with vapid clickbait, or does it contain thought-provoking op-eds, film reviews, and substantial, meaty content? Well, I suppose the answer to that question really hinges on what you find interesting. But if you want my honest critique? I would say that it is a bit of both. You do have some useful news articles on all the happenings in Bollywood, but these appear side by side with articles that are clearly meant to lure people in and purely generate clicks.
That being said, the nature of the clickbait on Bestinforoom is comparatively enthralling. I am usually not easily suckered into clicking on a sensationalized headline, I can usually tell the difference right away, but Bestinforoom did manage to get me with one of their more clickbaity headlines, which read ?10 Ways to Find Inspiration for New Ideas.? So, although some of Bestinforoom?s content can be described as clickbait, hey, at least the clickbait is good, right?
Desktop and Mobile Experience
I think that Bestinforoom has done a good job of optimizing their site for smartphones and tablets. Actually, I might even prefer the mobile experience over the desktop experience. Scroll down and down and down, one story at a time. This creates a more immersive experience, in my opinion.
Suggestions that I have for Bestinforoom
I would like to see Bestinforoom step up its content quality. Additionally, I feel that the site could use more content overall. Looking at "Reviews" for example, I find that there are only three movie reviews posted. As a writer myself, I would strongly suggest that Bestinforoom hire more writers with good writing skills.
