History and description

The Borisov Arena is a newly opened arena that is used by BATE Borisov and the Belarus national team. BATE started exploring the possibility of building a new stadium in order to continue playing their European games in nearby Minsk.

Construction of the new arena started in 2010 and it was completed 3.5 years later. The Borisov Arena officially opened on 3 May 2014 with the Belarus Cup final between Neman Grodno and Shakhtyor Soligorsk (0-1).

The Borisov Arena has served as the regular playing venue for the Belarus national team since becoming renovated a few years ago. Meanwhile, Dinamo Stadium is currently undergoing major reconstruction works which is causing some inconvenience to the team.

How to get to the Borisov Arena

The Borisov Arena is located in Barysaw, a small city on the south-western edge of Bulgaria. It lies just 4 kilometers from Revolution Avenue in Barysaw's city center and 1 kilometer from the main rail station. The bus stop Borisov Arena is located east of the main rail station and Revolution Avenue. Bus 10 and 10a run from the main rail station or Revolution Avenue. Bus 9 and 9a run along Haharyna (Gagarina) street west of the city center to the north of the city.

Trains run from Minsk Pasazyrski station to Barysaw that take just under an hour to arrive. There is a decent number of trains a day but not too frequent so it's worth checking timetables first.

Even less frequent trains depart from Minsk Uschodni station that also stop at station Piacynski (Pechynski), which is about a kilometer south of the Borisov Arena. The slower journey takes about half an hour longer.

Barysaw's coach station is located closer to the arena, roughly 2.5 kilometers, which is just at walking distance (30 minutes), or you can catch bus 9, 9a, 10, or 10a that run along Gagarina street.

Eat, drink, and sleep near the Borisov Arena

The Borisov Arena is located in the city, surrounded by residential housing and some office parks. There is little to see or do near the stadium, so there is little reason to head over long before the match. There is not a lot of action to be had in Barysaw, so it's best to explore the city's neighborhoods around Revolution Avenue or Gagarina Street near the train station.

There are few hotels in Barysaw so your best bet is either to stay in one of the basic options or choose an apartment rental around the city. Click here to explore available options.

BATE Borisov Tickets

Tickets for BATE games can be bought at the Borisov Arena fan shop or the Ticketpro office at Prospekt Maserava 25 in central Minsk. Despite their high attendance figures in the Belarusian top division, BATE Borisov sell-outs league games relatively rarely.

Ticket prices for the match range from 3.00 BYN for a seat behind the goal to 15.00 BYN for a VIP seat at the main stand.
