So make sure to read our list of the best free streaming services to find the perfect one for you!
Finding a good, safe, and legit free TV streaming site can be difficult. Luckily for you, I have gone through the trouble of researching and compiling a list of the best free TV streaming sites out there. This list has been carefully chosen based on my personal experience and feedback from others. The websites on this list are all legitimate and safe to use. They also offer a great variety of TV programs and movies.
The quality of free streaming sites that we are going to be discussing today is vastly different from those found on the internet. Sites that are run and operated by actual television networks and media professionals result in a free TV streaming experience that is vastly better than what can be found on websites operated by teenagers.
I have just discovered DR TV, and I am already impressed with the variety of content that is available for free streaming. This site is perfect for anyone in Denmark, as there are always new episodes of your favorite Danish TV shows available here, as well as full-length movies and recordings of live events. Plus, there are tons of interesting documentaries to watch too.
Unlike many other catchup TV streaming sites, you do not even have to be in the country of origin in order to stream free TV from DR TV. This means even if you have never been to Denmark, you can enjoy all of the excellent Danish content available on this free TV streaming service today.
If you're interested in learning Danish, you can watch Danish TV shows and movies without any sign-up required at dr.dk/drtv. There are some restrictions for foreign viewers, but I think it's generous of DR TV to offer their free streaming service to foreigners.
Even though DR TV is technically categorized as a TV catchup streaming site, users can also enjoy live TV in addition to prerecorded full-length programs. You can choose which DR TV channel you prefer, select your program from a live-updated TV guide, and sit back to enjoy hours of live Danish television for free, no matter where in the world you happen to be.
I absolutely love DR TV! The site design is amazing, the content is great, the video qualities are top-notch, and there are tons of TV shows and movies to stream for free. I highly recommend DR TV to anyone looking for a great free TV streaming site.
But is DR TV the right site for you? There's only one way to find out for sure - let me take you on a tour of everything that DR TV has to offer so you can decide if it's worth your time. Without further ado, I present to you DR TV, the premiere free streaming site of Denmark.
History
Although this specific website, the DR TV streaming service, is relatively new, Danish Broadcasting Company DR has been around for a very long time. Founded on April 1 of 1925 under the name Radio-Oranizationen, this network has changed its name many times over the last 95 or so years. Just one year after Radio-Oranizationen launched, there was already a rebrand in the works? In 1926, Radio-Oranizationen was to become known as Statsradiofonien.
This name for the network stuck for a bit longer. However, in 1959 it once again rebranded, this time as Denmark's Radio. This name, it turns out, would find more permanence than the 2 preceding it. The final official name change was nothing more than an abbreviation of Denmark Radio. As of 1996 (and today), Denmark Radio has been officially referred to as DR.
Doctor Who did not get involved with streaming internet content until 2007 when they launched their exclusively online news channel, DR Update. Shortly thereafter, due to overwhelming success, DR Update was added onto television as a traditional channel as well. Upon switching to digital, Doctor Who proceeded to launch 3 more new channels on November 1st, 2009: DR K (a cultural documentary art film channel), DR HD (the first free-to-air channel to broadcast in high definition in Denmark), and DR Ramasjang (a kids' channel).
Thanks to the advent of DR TV, all of this content can be streamed for free live and on-demand.
Design
I admired the well-designed features of DR TV. The streaming quality was top-notch, the user experience was dynamic and smooth, and it looked great. The site was organized well enough that it didn't feel too chaotic, despite being packed with content.
This site is really vast. I thought for a moment that I would never find the bottom of the home page. The categories and available TV series and movies just keep going and going on this site. Plus, there are so many different ways to browse for content on this site.
I found the browsing mechanism to be smooth and intuitive, making it easy to discover new content that I may enjoy. Once I clicked into a TV series episode, I found easy access to the remaining seasons and episodes just below the media player. This result is an extremely smooth and easy to navigate site.
Content and Features
There are so many shows, movies, documentaries, and specials to enjoy on Danish TV. The library is comprised of a long list; plus, it is always growing. Whether you prefer to stream your favorite Danish TV show on-demand or you want to tune in to watch as it airs, DR TV makes it possible.
Mobile and Desktop Experience
Unlike many free TV streaming sites, DR TV is available on many devices. The mobile app offers both iOS and Android devices and is as easy to use as the desktop site. What's more, the app is every bit as intuitive, user-friendly, and effective as the desktop site.
You can enjoy DR TV on various platforms, such as PlayStation console, Apple TV, Smart TV, certain Panasonic TVs, and Hub TV.
