History and description

The Estadio Tomás Adolfo Ducó stadium was built in the early 1940s after Huracán had purchased the site of the new stadium in 1939 and laid the first stone in 1941. On September 7, 1947, the first match at the still unfinished Estadio Tomas A. Duco was played between Huracán and Boca Juniors. Huracán won 4-3.

After two years of hard work, the stadium was finally completed on 11 November 1949. A friendly between Huracan and Peñarol took place there that day, with the game ending in a 4-1 victory for the former.

Tomas A. Duco Stadium has remained relatively unchanged since its construction in 1977. It was designated a heritage site in 2007.
