Fox Broadcasting Company is a major television and film distributor. They are one of the largest networks in terms of viewership and influence. The company is a member of the North American Broadcasters Association and the National Association of Broadcasters.
In 1985, the network announced that it would bring a company to compete with daytime television. This announcement was met with larger networks CBS, NBC, and ABC. In 1986, FOX formally began airing and challenging the other networks.
The network became very successful, and some of the first shows to air were The Late Show, Married with Children, 60 Minutes, and Murder She Wrote. More hit television shows like Masterchef, Masterchef Junior, So You Think You Can Dance, Family Guy, Empire, and many more have been hosted on the network since.

Website Design

Overall, the website is simple and easy to navigate. The website's design is simple, with a monochromatic background and white font. The logo is large and bold, and it's located at the top left corner of the website. Overall, the website is easy to use and navigate.
It can be difficult to know where to start when navigating the menu. There are so many options that it can be hard to decide which one to choose. The top menu allows the viewer to check out any of the Fox network sister sites; Fox News, Fox Business, Fox Nation, and Fox Sports are all boxed in with their logos.
The second menu reads from left to right, with the Home, Entertainment, Sports, and News sections in the middle. The live TV schedule is located a small distance away, and the sign in and search bars are located nearby. Featured programming is in a large window below the menu.
The two menu sections are distinguishable, but the large logos of Fox's other networks are very distracting. It feels less like they want to show the viewer their content, and more like they want you to click on their other sites.

Content

Fox keeps a large variety of shows and movies available on their streaming site. They have dramas, sitcoms, sports, and more. If you are looking for an all-encompassing streaming site, Fox is an okay choice. I recommend trying the Fox network shows on Hulu if they are available there instead.
Fox News links to other streaming sites that it owns, such as the Fox Business Network and Fox Nation. The news network features breaking news stories and clips pertaining to the general public. The Fox Business Network is similar to the news one, but it covers stories relevant to businesses more frequently. The stock market is also featured in the sidebar on this channel. Finally, Fox Sports links to different types of sports news.

Desktop & Mobile Accessibility

For one, the layout is easy to understand. Additionally, the website is able to keep up with the latest updates.
The mobile browser version is similar to the desktop page. The unfortunate number of menus disappears in the mobile version. The top menu is much easier to view, and the search bar is also easily found. A large button prompts us to open the website in the app.
The application for the network is your typical streaming app. However, the login process is very frustrating. The app will not allow you to view anything unless you create an account attached to your email. This creates a problem because many viewers do not haveemail addresses and are not able to access the content. The process does not take very long, but to open the app and see half of the content locked should not require an account. Navigation and design on the app are fine, but this authentication process blocks viewers from seeing much of what is available on the app.

Positives

While the streaming site Fox offers a lot of content, it falls short to some of the top networks when it comes to streaming. In terms of variety and amount of shows, it fares well. The website's shows are also quite popular and relevant. However, one downside is that its live broadcast feature isn't as good as some of the others.
The network is allowing you to have a preview pass for up to 60 minutes. This is a unique way to attract viewers to get a membership and one of the only real positive features for me. Under the live broadcast, the menu for what is upcoming shows. Otherwise, the website is very lackluster in terms of content.

Negatives

First of all, there are many negative things about this streaming service. Before previewing it, I was really looking forward to trying out a network like Fox. But sadly, they failed to live up to my expectations. Their website is poorly managed and the streaming quality is often poor.
The first ad is for a product that you?re not even going to be using and the second is for a product that you?re not interested in. The navigation from the homepage is difficult to use, and when you finally make it to the show you want to watch, be prepared to spend about thirty minutes of your life watching ads. I am no stranger when it comes to ads; they don't bother me very much. However, going into the show you are greeted with two ads. This isn't a problem, two isn't a large number. The first ad is for a product that you're not even going to be using and the second is for a product that you're not interested in.
When you view the load bar of the video, there are six commercial breaks in the programming. That's just breaks! When it comes down to the actual commercials, there are yet again, six commercials. Six breaks with six commercials a piece are absolutely ridiculous.
Despite the ad issues, the website's load time is poor. Changing from one page to the next is a very slow experience. Another strange thing about the website is its choice in unlocked episodes- instead of locking the most recent episodes, it is common for Fox to lock the first episode of a series. They also commonly leave only the fifth and sixth episodes of shows unlocked. The choice is a very strange one.
This streaming service has underwhelming performance, leading viewers to believe that Fox prefers to push their sister sites. Upon review of them, it is clear that the layouts and functionality of those sites have received much more attention than the streaming counterpart.

Improvements Needed

Many improvements need to be made on this website and app in order to make it a contender for the best streaming experience. Currently, the website and app are lacking and have many issues. I would not consider watching streams from Fox unless changes are made.
The first change that could be made to improve the Fox website is to move the sister site menu to the bottom of the page. This would prioritize the sister sites and make it easier for viewers to find information about them. It would also feel like Fox was trying to push their other sites on viewers in order to get them more clicks and traffic.
The number of commercials should be taken into account. The number of commercial breaks and advertisements within the breaks are so long that it almost equates to the same amount of time as the television show itself. Not to mention, the ads are glitchy and stall stealing even more viewing time.

Summary

Fox Broadcasting Company's streaming services are not the worst in terms of style and themes, but they come up short when it comes to features.
The double menus are overwhelming and push the company's bigger agenda. They relentlessly bombard viewers with advertisements and commercials. The viewing experience is so unpleasant, I would not recommend this service to anyone.
