Jango Free Streaming: We tell you how to watch for free (Updated 2022)

If you're looking for a variety of music to listen to, Jango offers an uninterrupted playlist that is made by experts. This playlist is updated weekly and is recommended to users based on their activity or mood. Similar to Spotify and other leading music streaming services, you can find playlists for different activities, such as working out, waking up, concentrating, commuting, entertaining, unwinding and even sleeping. However, there are no sorting filters available so you cannot narrow down the search results based on anything except genres.

Jango seems to have lost its footing in the last few years. People used to love it because of its captivating social media features and artist support, but then things went downhill when it tried to implement a clunky lyric feature coupled with intrusive display ads. However, Jango is working towards finding a middle ground and I'm hopeful that it can regain the trust of its users in the future.
Jango was greeted with user complaints and bad reviews after they announced that they would be reducing the number of ads per day. Although this was welcomed by users who were previously bombarded with commercial assault every five minutes, Jango has lost its charm because it no longer emphasizes on quality. Earlier, it was seen as a helpful hand for indie-artists. Today, however, it feels like a marketing hotbed that places emphasis on pushing the artist for money. This approach never goes well for any party involved and thus there has been a drop in Jango's monthly listeners.

What is Jango?

Jango is a radio and music streaming service that offers a wide variety of genres to its users. Jango was the first music streaming platform with integrated social networking into a radio station. Since 2007, it has allowed users to listen to playlists created by other users and even share their own on Jango's social network.
Jango is recommending their songs alongside other popular artists at a charge of $30 for 1000 plays. This particular feature, known as the Jango airplay, helps independent producers to put their work out there and get heard from the masses. Some of the key features of Jango airplay include: - Song played once within any two-hour period - Once a song is played, it won?t be played again throughout the day - Any song with over 50 upvotes will be pushed to the regular playlist.
I really enjoy the fact that Jango is not completely commercializing the platform. It will help budding artists, but not at the expense of regular listeners. Thus, when a particular song is aired and it receives the backing of Jango, it will automatically receive Jango's support. If it doesn't, it won't be played again, so both users and artists can be happy.

Jango, a music streaming service founded in 2007, has amassed over 70 million songs and 20 million active users in just 10 years.

Why should you stream on Jango?

Despite having lost its appeal in recent years, the streaming service still manages to attract over a million users a month. This is because it offers quality features that dedicated users are drawn to tune into Jango.

Custom Radio

Jango is a custom radio app that allows users to customize their listening experience. With Jango, you can create your own custom radio stations, share them with your friends, and access other users' playlists. You can also choose your favorite band or singer and Jango will start playing music from those artists. You can keep refining your stations and songs by playing tracks frequently. Jango has a pre-existing playlist with hundreds of stations based upon different genres.

Unlimited Skip feature

If you don't want to listen to a song, you can skip it as many times as you want. There is no restriction as to how many times you skip. We have seen this feature in AccuRadio except that one comes with a pre-roll ad after every 3-4 skips.

Customizable Stations

Although this feature might sound common, it's not. First, you can ban a certain number of songs or channels which you don't like. Apart from that, you can add up to six artists on your playlist so it is customized as per your taste. My list has Redman, Post Malone, Twenty-One Pilots, Drake and Adele. This allows the service to adapt as per my taste and provide music based upon my preference. What I really like about this service is that you can even find music in which you don't remember the lyrics under "Misheard Lyrics" or "Featured in Apple Commercials" category.

Fresh Music

I love hearing underground artists. There's something special about knowing an artist before they're popular. Jango makes it easy for you to enjoy their music before they skyrocket to fame. This way, you can get to know them better before they become a household name.

How to access Jango?

You can access the Jango website by typing the keyword Jango or by using the following link: Apart from this, you can also download the app which is available on Android and iOS platforms. Simply type Jango in the search bar and you shall find the official app on the store.

The font on Jango's website is the worst element. It takes away everything good about the website, and makes it confusing to use.
There was a big, blue button on the top that says ??Create New Playlist?. I clicked on it and then the next set of pages came up. Upon visiting the website for the first time, I saw a landing page with a blue background - search bar at the center and tiny thumbnails under it. There were eight different categories with small album art cluttered into a thumbnail. Under that, there's a callout which says ??Browse over 800 curated genre playlists?. Honestly, I felt like bouncing off right away but since I wanted to review the service, I had to stick around. And so, I clicked on Popular Rock Hits and started my journey. It took me to a new page which is a standard format for all of the pages. There was a big, blue button on the top that says ??Create New Playlist?. I clicked on it and then the next set of pages came up.
Since the website is unusual, we'll have to analyze it based on different parameters. As soon as I visited the Popular Rock Hits page, I was able to rate songs and create stations as a guest. It allowed me to review everything in the settings menu. Furthermore, I created an account and logged in so I can see if it can keep up with my music taste. Throughout my 2-hour journey on the website, here are a few of the important bits that I'd like to share with you.

This app loads a personalized section based on the category you selected. It will suggest radio stations, recent stations, and hundreds of other genres that you can access.

Favorite Songs

You can access all the songs you've thumbed up with this section. You'll be able to view the video of that song along with information about the artists. At any time, you can choose to add or remove the songs from that list.

Banned Songs

This section of the app will list all the songs you've thumbed down, just like the favorites list. You'll be able to see information about the artist, like their biography and album covers, and you can remove or add songs to your list.

Station History

Can you review and edit the station's list by using the station history? I logged in to check this out, and was glad to find that it doesn't disappoint.

I really appreciate the wide variety of music that Jango offers in high-quality format. All radio streaming services are competing to offer the best song selection in the best quality, but Jango stands out with over two dozen genres and over 150 traditional stations. Plus, they have a great app design with an easy-to-use interface.

Desktop/Mobile experience

Despite the negative feedback, the streaming service quality remains intact. The music is of good quality with no hiccups, and I was able to skip an unlimited number of tracks. Compared to premium services such as Pandora or Slacker Radio, this streaming service offers excellent value.

Plans & Pricing

Jango is free to use, but you will need to watch ads in order to use it.

Suggestions I have for Jango

I would be happy to pay $3.99/month if the developers could remove the ads. The ads along with the intrusive artist promotion just make the overall experience very poor, which is disappointing. Another suggestion would be to improve the website - it looks bad and can be confusing for first-time users.

Jango's music quality is on par with all the premium music streaming services out there. However, its interface and annoying artist promotion ads don't help the service in any way. Anyways, if you're looking for a free radio streaming service, you should check Jango out at least once.
