Streaming services have allowed users to watch their favorite content for free, with anime being one of the most popular genres among movie and TV show fanatics. Though the Japanese culture has been at the forefront of this anime revolution, this piece of art has taken over the world in less than a few decades.
Many anime fans watch anime in two ways: subbed and dubbed. Major distributors provide non-Japanese with a dubbed version, but at the heart of it, true anime lovers prefer the subbed version over the dubbed one. Nonetheless, that doesn't mean there's no demand for the dubbed version. Many times, westerners discovered life in anime after they watched it dubbed in their own countries and other areas in Asia.
We are reviewing a website that has dubs in its name. Thus, as viewers, you would know what to expect on this streaming website.
What is JustDub?
Just Dubs is a great website to find all your favorite dubbed anime. Be it Death Note, Pokemon, Dragon Ball, Demon Slayer, or One Piece, you'll find all of the popular shows on this network. It's a free website where users can watch anime in high quality. Just Dub has a decent content library of over 600 series - all of which are available in the English iteration. The website is quite similar to the popular anime and manga related websites and thus browsing around the platform is not very difficult.
Why should you stream on JustDubs?
There are plenty of reasons why you should stream on JustDubs. However, I'll share only a few of the key points so you can understand why I like this website.
Great Interface
Unlike major anime-centric websites, JustDubs takes a more professional approach with a dark background and purple menus. It's not just the design that catches your attention, but the menus and different sections as well. The content is very well segregated and thus it's easier to find what you're looking for.
Aesthetically pleasing
The website's design sense along with its user functionality deserves praise. There are numerous categories with six thumbnail images each. There are sections such as ?Latest Episodes?, ?Latest Animes?, and ?Latest Cartoons?, which help you stay up-to-date on all the content that is being updated on the website.
Anime Directory
I love how each series has an anime directory under the video player, which works like a playlist and thus even if you click on any random episode, you'll be able to track back all the episodes that can begin from scratch. The Anime directory is very helpful if you're a new user and if you're an anime lover, you're certainly going to love this feature. Most users don't like to spoil an anime session and thus they prefer watching from the first episode.
Sorting feature
Another feature that I appreciate on the website is the sorting feature. There are multiple ways in which you can sort the content. First, you can try and sort using the genres. Other than that, you can try sorting by TV/Movie, Ongoing/Completed, Ascending/Descending, and Alphabetical arrangement. After you have chosen an option, you can choose to filter the content according to your preferences.
Why shouldn?t you stream on JustDubs?
I really like the integrated video player on anime websites. It eliminates malware and other malpractices, and you can stream the content on the website itself without redirection. There are also a lot of intrusive pop-ups that you need to deal with first before you can start streaming.
How to access JustDubs?
To access JustDubs, you can either search for it on the first page of your results or use the link provided: JustDubs, to access the website directly. Before accessing the website, make sure that you are using an active VPN to protect your identity from hackers as well as your device from malware.
Design
I love the dark theme on this website. The black and white background with a purple menu and white text really clicks for me. However, I'm not a big fan of the logo. It fails to stand out and makes the website appear spammy because of the lackluster design. Apart from the logo, the interface, menus, font, and thumbnails look great.
Header
It would make sense to put the anime series on the top since this is what most people are looking for.
The header section of the website is significantly lower than usual, positioned in the middle of the hero section. The logo is at the top and there are five key options on the purple background. These options are "Anime Series," "Cartoon Series," "Ongoing Anime," "Movies," and "Random." These are all standard menus found on most other websites. It makes sense to place the anime series on top, as this is what most people are looking for.
Hero Section
Since the majority of the hero section starts much later than the header section, it is careful to pack some crucial information right at the start. Each of the six thumbnails in the Latest Episodes for Anime and Toon categories have important details about where you can watch episodes for both anime and cartoons.
Body
The body section on JustDubs continues the great work we saw in the hero section. It mainly comprises different sections such as the ?Latest Anime? and ?Latest Cartoons?. Under each of these sections, you'll find six thumbnails in a single row. Thus, each category has 12 vertical banners.
Footer
I was disappointed to see that there were no navigation buttons or other information in the footer section. There is just the copyright text and thus the footer is pretty much useless.
Inner Pages
I really enjoyed the inner pages of this website. The layout is similar to the homepage, but these come with sorting options. There are six vertical thumbnails in each row and you can sort the content based upon alphabetical order, genre, status, and language. Simply choose your options and click on the filter button to access the content as per your taste.
Content
With 600 dubbed anime series, JustDubs definitely has a vast content library. You can find the latest anime series such as Love Stage, Beastars, Castlevania, Asteroid in Love, KonoSuba, Cagaster of an Insect Cage alongside many others.
If you're interested in watching some of the most iconic dubbed anime series out there, such as Dragon Ball, Pokémon, One Piece, Naruto and Death Note, you'll find those on this website. In addition to cartoons like "Tuca and Bertie?", "DC Super Hero Girls 2019?", "Sherwood?", "Carmen Sandiego?", "Power Rangers Beast Morphers?", and "WTF 101?" among many others, you can also watch recent live-action adaptations such as ?Gen:Lock? and ?Tigtone?.
Desktop/Mobile experience
I tried streaming on JustDubs using my Asus Vivobook 15 and I was not happy with the quality. Sure, the design appeal was there but when it came to the end product, the website was average at best. The most happening thing on the website was the playlist and the next episode button which allows you to binge-watch without any obstruction.
Just Dubs contains a lot of advertisements. There is a vignette ad followed by several pop-up ads. Furthermore, the sidebar has various banners and third-party links. Additionally, there is no auto-play feature or standout video player on Just Dubs.
Suggestions I have for JustDubs
There is plenty of room for improvement on this website. JustDubs is far from perfect and I believe with time and effort, the developers can fix major loopholes. The ads, pop-ups, and streaming qualities can be fixed. I just hope that the developers pay attention to that.
Conclusion
JustDubs is a website that can be used to watch anime series. However, the streaming quality is pretty average and does not meet the expectations set by the design or user interface.
