History and description

Stadion Letná, the first stadium at the site of the current Generali Arena, was built in 1921. It consisted of open terraces and was known as Stadion Letná. The old covered main stand burned down in 1934, after which construction began of a new main stand.

In 1969, Letná stadium underwent a major redesign that increased its seating capacity to almost 35,880.

The stadium underwent extensive renovations in 1994 and a few more in later years.

The stadium was renamed Toyota Arena in 2003, and then AXA Arena in 2007. It was then called Generali Arena from 2009 to 2020 but changed its name to the longer Generali ?eská poji??ovna Arena in 2020.

The Generali Arena is frequently used by the Czech national team.

How to get to the Generali Arena

The Generali Arena is located in Letna areas north of Prague?s old town. The walk from the Old Town Square takes about 20 minutes. Walk north over Parizska street, cross the Vltava river, and then Letna Park. The walk from Prague Castle takes about as long. Alternatively, you can take bus 71 or 72 (which go along the river) and get off at stop Hradcanska. From there it is a 5 to 10-minute walk.

Trams also run from the city center.

Address: Milady Horákové 1066/98, 170 82 Praha 7 - Letná

Eat, drink, and sleep near the Generali Arena

The area around GENERALI Arena is mostly residential, and while you may find the odd bar or restaurant, it is likely a better idea to eat and drink in the old town and make the walk to the stadium before the match. The adjacent Letna Park is nice on a summer day. The Prague Art Hotel is located right next to the arena, and it is highly recommended. The Letna Hotel is also nearby, but has lower ratings. The Belvedere Hotel and Parkhotel Praha are both within walking distance, while the Hostel Dakura is a budget option. Finally, the Hoffmeister Hotel may be a good fit if you have more money to spend.

Please select all hotels near the Generali Arena and investigate further options in Prague's old town.

Sparta Prague Tickets

Tickets for Sparta matches can be bought online, at the stadium from three hours before the start of the match, or at Ticketportal. Despite having amongst the highest attendances in the Gambrinus Liga, Sparta have been unable to sell out the local derby versus Slavia.

The ticket prices come in three categories: CZK 170.00 for a seat behind the goal, CZK 250.00 to CZK 290.00 for seats at one of the sides, and between CZK 350.00 and CZK 590.00 for seats in the most expensive category.

Useful Internet links

Welcome to AC Sparta Praha's website, and thank you for visiting. Our website provides information about our club and our team. We also provide a guide to Prague, as well as public transport information. If you have any questions about Prague or the public transport system, please don't hesitate to contact us. Thank you for visiting us and we hope to see you soon! I went to this stadium with my partner for a Europa League qualifier in August. The tickets were £5 each and the beer was cheap. The fans were friendly and we couldn't speak any Czech, but unlike the UK, you can drink in the stands.

and people were not aggressive. I went to this ballpark with my partner for a Europa League qualifier in August. The tickets were five dollars each, and the beer was cheap. The fans were friendly, and we couldn't speak any Czech, which made it easier. In contrast, the UK is much more hostile when it comes to expressing support for sports teams; there are bars where you can drink and there aren't many people who are aggressive.

Tickets can be bought at the gates, but be aware that queues are quite big and try to arrive early. Smoking is allowed outside and you can enjoy a local beer. Fans are very passionate and sing for the entire game. The ground is in a very nice city.
