Most people in the world still rely on cable and satellite providers to watch their content. However, with Digital Library Network Alliance?s users, they are using their personal computer to elevate their content viewing experience. Using the DLNA media server, they can connect to various devices and stream any file they want. These services are more than just media servers; you can create playlists, import them, rip CDs, sync it with iTunes library, and organize media through an easy-to-use platform.
What is Mezzmo?
Mezzmo is a DLNA media server offered by Conceiva that enhances your media viewing experience. Once you have connected your devices to this home network, all your files and data is synced as per your convenience. Mezzmo provides you complete flexibility and acts as an ultimate media server for listening to music, watching photos and streaming movies to your DLNA and UPnP devices. A fascinating thing about Mezzmo is that it offers the best-in-class media sharing features on the Windows platform.
Why should you use Mezzmo?
As we have mentioned earlier, Mezzmo is more than just a personal server. From setting up your TV to your home theater, digital media appliances, and gaming consoles, you can use Mezzmo for anything. Today we will look into several aspects that make this media server great.
Great Compatibility
According to Mezzmo, the company's DLNA and UPnP media streaming platform supports all DLNA- and UPnP-enabled devices, including TVs from Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Phillips, Sharp, Pioneer. Apart from TVs, Mezzmo also supports Blu-ray players from Sony, Samsung, LG and Panasonic. The platform supports gaming consoles such as Microsoft Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Apple iPad. Additionally, Mezzmo also supports Chromecast.
Comprehensive Metadata
Mezzmo extracts all the metadata about the content from media files, including artwork and text metadata. It also retrieves poster and backdrop artwork from various websites.
Extensive file support
Almost every popular music, video and image format is supported by Mezzmo. So if you have a compatible device, you won't need any extra codec packs or extensions to get them playing. Transcoding can be handled by most systems these days, though it used to be more intensive in the past. Mezzmo's multithreaded process is optimized for 64-bit and 32-bit processing, so it can handle a lot of files at once.
Easy to use
With this service, you can easily set it up and begin using it without needing any prior technical experience. After installation, the software will automatically find all your content and organize it on your computer. This means that everything from movies, TV shows, images, videos and music to iTunes music and WMP music will be stored safely on your own computer or drives. You can also easily import content from CDs or other sources. Connecting to multiple devices is easy too - just set up the software. You can then stream ripped Blu-rays, ISO files and DVDs as well as play them in a hassle-free manner.
Online Channels & Plugins
With Mezzmo, you get a one-stop shop for all your audio needs.
There are two different services called Mezzmo and Mezzmo Pro. The main difference between the two is that Mezzmo Pro offers access to third-party plugins and online channels while Mezzmo only provides basic audio features.
However, with Mezzmo Pro, you can also access services such as TuneIn Online Radio, Twitch, Movie Trailers, TED Talks, and ShoutCast Radio which are not available with regular Mezzmo. Overall, if you're looking for a comprehensive audio service then go with Mezzmo Pro.
How to access Mezzmo?
To access Mezzmo, you can search for it on the first page of the search result or use the following link on the left. The URL is Mezzmo, which is the product offered by Conceiva and only available on their website.
Design
It?s a great way to advertise.
I can't help but feel that the design of this website is outdated for 2020. It looks and feels like it came out of the 2000's. The user interface isn't particularly slick, but I must say that the developers did a good job emphasizing function over form. The website is quick to load and most pages are optimized, which is impressive. However, my favorite part of this website is the Mezzmo dedicated page- once you're on it, you don't need to go anywhere else to find all the important information about the service! It's a great way to advertise.
Header
The header section has the following options: Products, Company, Support, Buy, Download, and Forum on the left. Towards the right is a search bar and above that is the drop-down language preference menu. There is not much from a visual sense; it's all plain and simple.
Hero Section
The Hero Section is packed with valuable information. There is a Primary Banner at the top and "Table of Content" guide on the left. Towards the right, you have CTA buttons such as "Download?", "Buy Pro?", and "Follow?". It's really the left panel that you would refer to if you landed on this page.
You can choose from a variety of guides that include options like Download Studio, Mezzmo - Wiki, What's New, Features, Device Support, Format Support, Screenshots, FAQs, Reviews, and Buy. Other than this selection of guides you have other options such as Mezzmo Android, Mezzmo Web, Mezzmo for Roku, Mezzmo for Kodi, Mezzmo for Chromecast and Mezzmo for Samsung TV.
Body
The landing page's body section is FULL of content. Everything you want to learn about is accessible via the panel you saw in the hero section. For instance, if you want to learn about Format Support?, just click on the text and you'll be redirected to that page. Thus, you have all the crucial information in a detailed body section.
Footer
The footer section has five options on the left and six options on the right. The left-most option is English, the next Japanese, then Privacy, Site Map, Bookmark and finally Products, Company, Support and Buy. It's useful to have these navigation options in place so browsing around the website becomes more efficient.
Desktop/Mobile Experience
The streaming content on Mezzmo was great. Among everything that I tried on this platform, there were a few features that stood out in terms of the viewing experience.
Flexible Subtitle features
I love that Mezzmo has a subtitle support. You can stream almost any subtitles to all your devices. It supports all the external subtitle file formats along with embedded subtitle formats including the 3D ones. Users can also customize Mezzmo for each device so they can watch different subtitles on different devices.
Chromecast Support
By using the Mezzo server and the Android app, you can stream content through your Chromecast dongle. The service automatically transcodes the incompatible files and runs them on any device, including mobile devices. Subtitles, along with metadata and other tiny details make streaming through Chromecast a seamless one.
Plans & Pricing
You have two premium Mezzmo software to choose from. The DownloadStudio 10.0 is priced at $14.97, while the Mezzmo Pro 6.0 for Windows is priced at $29.95. Note that the price you pay is a one-time fee and not a recurring one.
Suggestions I have for Mezzmo
First, I think the developers should work towards enhancing the platform. Second, it would be great if Mezzmo created a separate website that is as detailed as the one you find on Conceiva. There's just a wiki page for Mezzmo and that can be confusing. Most SaaS companies avoid having individual identities, but I would love for Mezzmo to have its own platform.
Conclusion
If you're looking for an effective software application that allows you to stream media on all your devices, you should look no further than Mezzmo. It comes off as a breath of fresh air due to its amazing flexibility in terms of compatibility and system requirements. As a result, Mezzmo is one of the most competent media servers available online.
