History and description

The stadium has a capacity of 25,000 people and was renovated in 2007. The Inea Stadium, previously known as the Stadion Miejski, opened its doors in 1980 after a construction period of twelve years. The official opening took place on August 23rd of that year with a Lech vs Motor Lublin match (1-1). At present, the stadium has a capacity of 25,000 people and was renovated in 2007. Three years later, the Miejski Stadium recorded its highest attendance when 45,000 people attended a match between Lech and Widez Lodz. This meant that a large number of people were watching the game from the edge of the pitch.

At that time, the Stadion Miejski was a bowl-shaped stadium with stands on three sides. It was built on top of large earth embankments, and one of its most characteristic features were the 56-meter high floodlights that got installed in 1986.

Poland's capital, Poznan, embarked on a large redevelopment project in 2005 to modernize its stadium for spectator use. Plans were later upgraded in order for the stadium to qualify as one of the playing venues for the upcoming Euro 2012 championships.

The first new stand opened in 2007. Since then, the earth embankments were removed, and in the three years that followed the other three stands got rebuilt. The completed stadium reopened in September 2010.

In the 2013 Euro soccer championship, three group matches were played at the INEA Stadium. This year, the stadium was renamed in honor of a new sponsorship agreement.

Tickets for Lech Poznan games can be bought online, at the stadium ticket windows, or at one of the other sales points, of which the TIFO shop at ul. Ratajczaka 20 and Intersport shop at Stary Browar shopping centre are the most conveniently located. Tickets can be bought at the stadium on the day of the match. This means that Lech tend to sell out very few matches.

Polish citizens need a Lech Fan Card (Karta Kibica) to buy tickets, which can be acquired at the club office at the stadium. Foreigners should be able to buy tickets with just an identification.

Ticket prices for athletic events typically range from PLN 40.00 for a seat at one of the ends to PLN 60.00 for a central seat at one of the sides. Tickets are PLN 5.00 cheaper if bought in pre-sale.
