Movies Anywhere is a cloud-based digital locker and streaming platform operated by The Walt Disney Group. You can use it to enjoy the latest blockbusters from major networks, combining your movie libraries into one place. Most of us get tired trying to navigate different streaming networks and accounts, so Movie Anywhere makes it easy to find the movie you are looking for.
I prefer to have movies and shows organized on one platform. That's where Movies Anywhere comes in. It may not have its own content, but it does have a library filled with content from supported networks. So, if you have content on Amazon, Google Play, iTunes or Vudu, you can sync it with Movies Anywhere and you'll have everything on this network.

Most movie purchases you make online can be put on one platform, thereby eliminating the need to log in to different platforms. That makes Movies Anywhere a digital bridge between online vendors and content consumers. So far, Movies Anywhere has been able to sync with the platforms mentioned above as well as networks such as Microsoft, Xfinity TV, and FandangoNOW.
Backed by Major Studios
Movies Anywhere is backed by leading studios such as Universal, Disney, Fox, Sony and Warner Bros. This partnership means that any film produced by these studios will appear in the Movies Anywhere app whether you purchased the movie or not. Additionally, all these movies get synced with other partner networks.
How does Movies Anywhere model work?
To use digital movies across all platforms mentioned above, you will need to: (1) purchase digital movies or codes from iTunes or Vudu; and (2) watch the movies on the respective platforms.
History
Movies Anywhere was first started in the year 2014 as part of the Disney Movies Anywhere project, which had content from Marvel, Disney, Pixar, iTunes Store, Amazon Prime Video, FandangoNOW, Microsoft, Google Play Movies & TV, and Vudu. In 2017, Disney Movies Anywhere was relaunched as Movies Anywhere offering content from Disney and other partner networks.
Design
The website design is simple and quite colorful. From subtle fonts to movie collection banners, everything is minimalistic and straight forward. I love the blue and purple color tones throughout the website inspired by its logo.
Homepage Banner
This is followed by a list of popular movie studios, each with a subtitle. The bottom of the banner has an orange CTA button that says ??Create and Share Your Trailer?.
If you view the website's homepage banner, you will see a clean, minimal design with supporting text. From the banner itself, you can make out that the platform is powered by major studios. On the left, there is a CTA button which says "Join-Now Free?" with subtext - "Open to US residents 13+?". This is followed by a list of popular movie studios, each with a subtitle. The bottom of the banner has an orange CTA button that says "Create and Share Your Trailer?"
Explore Tab
If you click on the focal movie banner, you will be taken to a new page with a selection of movies. Categories on this page include New Releases, Daily Deals, Game Over, Holiday Action, From the Earth to the Stars, Chillout with Family, and Exclusives.
Redeem Tab
If you click on the Redeem tab, you will be directed to a dark page with grey text. This is by far the dullest page on the website. There is a rectangular box in which you are required to add your digital code. Once you add the code, you can click on Redeem to complete the process. If you don't know how to redeem, there are steps mentioned below the redeem button.
Membership
If you are a US resident over the age of 13, sign up for Movies Anywhere. Most people who aren't familiar with the sign-up process find it difficult, so I'd like to simplify it for you.
You can sign up for the course using your Facebook, Google, or email account. Once you sign up, you will be asked to link the two accounts.

If you?ve signed up for Movies Anywhere using your Amazon, iTunes, Xfinity, Vudu, FandangoNOW or Microsoft account, you don?t need this app yet. However, if you want all your digital assets in one place, here?s how you can add accounts manually:
First, visit MoviesAnywhere.com from your browser. If you haven't already done so, sign up for the service using the form on the top right-hand corner of the website. Next, click on the user profile on the top right-hand corner of the website and click on Manage Retailers. Click on Connect to link individual accounts and enter the account credentials to provide permission to complete the connection. You're all set!
Once you finish this process, all of your digital movies will appear under the My Movies category. I want to mention that not every movie is available on Movies Anywhere. For example, Paramount movies aren't currently streaming partners, so if you buy one from Vudu it won't appear in your My Movies list.
Content
To sync your content across all of your devices, I recommend using Movies Anywhere. After linking my account, I was able to watch the same movie on Google Play, Vudu and Amazon apps.

Apple iTunes, Amazon, Vudu, Xfinity (for Xfinity TV subscribers only), Google Play Movies and TV, Microsoft (Xbox and Windows 10), FandangoNow, Playstation.
You can shop for movies from any of the platforms mentioned and regardless of the app or the device, you can play the movie.
Movie studios on board
Pictures - Paramount Pictures
The six major Hollywood studios are: Disney, Sony Pictures, Warner Bros., Twentieth Century Fox, Universal Pictures, and Paramount Pictures.
Even though some of the top movie studios are not part of Movies Anywhere, there are still over 1000 movies that you can enjoy on the network. Some of the titles that you might have missed because these studios are not a part of Movies Anywhere include Kirk and Spock, The Godfather, Mission Impossible and Indiana Jones to name a few.
4K Experience depends upon your device
Movies Anywhere now supports 4K streaming. If you're using a device that doesn't support 4K yet, your streamed movie will be displayed in 1080p max. So make sure your device supports 4K before streaming a movie.
Desktop/Mobile experience
Movies Anywhere is the front end of the film library. If there is a film you haven't bought yet and you would like to watch it on Movies Anywhere, you can click the buy option and it will show you the video with its vendors.
There are various devices available that allow users to access online content, including the Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Amazon Fire Tablets, and Chromecast. This content works seamlessly on major web browsers on MAC and PCs. However, there is still no gaming console support yet. Disney is currently working to improve its compatibility.
How many screens can I stream with Movies Anywhere at once?
You can get up to four streams at once and all viewers can watch different films at once through Movies Anywhere. As for the same title, you can only stream a maximum of two streams.
Can I restrict the movies my kids have access to?
You can set up profiles for family members on the Netflix app. Each profile has different ratings, so you can restrict your children to a PG rating, for example, and make all the PG-rated movies disappear. You can also lock their profile so that they cannot access any other ratings.

Suggestions I have for Movies Anywhere
Movies Anywhere is doing a great job expanding its content libraries. If they add gaming console compatibility, there's not much they need to do.
Conclusion
Personally, I don't see any reason why you shouldn't try this service. Especially, if you have purchased a movie on any of the platforms mentioned above, you should definitely try Movies Anywhere.
