I absolutely love myTuner because it is unlike any other multichannel radio service found on search engines. It is one of the most interactive and user-friendly services out there, and I have been using it for nearly 4 years now. This app has a special place in my heart because it has helped me to connect with my favorite music genres in a way that no other service has been able to do.
What is myTuner?
If you?ve never heard of myTuner Radio, it is an internet/radio website which provides access to over 50,000 stations and 1 million-plus podcasts on a single website.
History
MyTuner was founded by Eduardo Carqueja in October of 2010. In 2012, myTuner's iOS app was launched as iTuner Radio v1.0. When the app reached Version 3, AppGeneration acquired the software from Digital Minds. Since AppGeneration's takeover, the app's focus shifted from single app development to a multi-platform directory comprising a vast network of internet radio stations. And everything has gone well - myTuner became one of the best Radio apps not only on iPhone and iPad but on every other device with a cumulative network of 50,000 radio stations from over 200 countries.
Why should you stream myTuner?
Many apps provide the filtering option, but not as much as myTuner. myTuner Radio allows you to filter your station based upon location, genre, and content - news, music, and local. This in-depth categorization helps you to find the suitable content in no time.
Extensive podcast coverage
My Tuner Radio is sure packed with fifty thousand stations from all over the world, but for me, its podcast network is where its real strength lies. Similar to radio stations, there are multiple ways to access the podcasts. I personally prefer selecting through categories. You can choose from a wide range of options such as health, music, news, comedy, politics, arts, science and technology to name a few. You can even download the podcast on your mobile and listen offline - an awesome feature!
Multi-platform support
The myTuner platform is available on the website and through the app. If you want to stream the service, you can download it for desktop devices - Web, Windows, Mac, wearables - apple watch and android wearables, mobile phones - Android and iOS devices, TV - Apple TV, LG TV, Samsung TV, Android TV and finally set-top box - Amazon Fire TV and Roku TV.
Apart from these, myTuner is also compatible with smart speakers and home appliances such as Sonos and Alexa. If you thought that was enough, it's even compatible with Android Auto, Apple Carplay, Bosch mySPIN, and Jaguar & Land Rover InControl Apps.
Alarm and timer support
We've found that this alarm and timer support is a handy feature in many reviews. Having an alarm and timer allows you to sleep while listening to music or podcasts, as the radio goes off by itself. Setting an alarm allows you to set your favorite station as the ringtone. Naturally, the early morning update blend with the morning making you feel less cranky.
Background play
There is no need to stay on the app to listen to the radio. You can get going with other things and carry on doing your mundane task on your phone. myTuner works in the background, so there are no discrepancies. You can create playlists and even share them using Facebook, Twitter, Email or SMS. If you're an iOS user, you can even listen to the radio using Air-Play. myTuner Radio's compatibility is truly unmatched.

Design
I find the user interface of myTuner to be respectable. It has a red and white color combination that is present across the website and can be seen on every page. The alignment on the homepage is good, but I like the overall look and feel of this website more than that of some other radio music streaming websites.
Header
The header section of myTuner is very simple and straightforward. You will find 4 menus - Stations, Podcasts, Sign-in, and Search.
Stations
If you click on stations, you'll be taken to a new page with the most popular radio channels in your country. For example, if you're streaming from the US, you'll find Fox News Talk, WQHT Hot 97 FM, The Big 80s Station, along with 21,000 other channels.
Similarly, if you're streaming from India, you'll get 465 channels including the likes of Radio Mirchi 98.3, Pehla Nasha, Radio Namkeen, 92.7 Big FM and AIR FM Gold.
Podcasts
If you click on a podcast, you'll be directed to a dedicated page with a list of podcasts on the right and the search and sort category on the left. If you'd like to keep a favorite podcast in your chosen language, country or city at the top of the list regardless of other changes, you can star mark it.
Sign-in
The sign-in page has a simple layout where users can register by providing their email address and password. If the user is already registered, they can use this page to login to their account. Alternate ways to login include Facebook and Google Sign-in. In the event that the user forgets their password, they can click the link to reset it.
Hero Section
On myTuner website, the Hero Section is a page that is very similar to the inner page. Except for specific region-based channels and podcasts, you get the top internet radio stations in your region. The list will have popular stations from your country by default. Thus, Fox News Talk, WQHT Hot 97 FM, The Big 80s Station are few of the stations which you would probably see first on this page.
Body
As you scroll down the website, you will still see three rows of top radio stations. After the channel thumbnails, you will have a list of radio stations based on genre. There is a slider option that you can use to find the genre you want to listen to. Scroll further and you will see the Apps section which provides you the link to download the app followed by popular podcasts.
Inner pages
As mentioned earlier, the inner page layout looks very similar to what you see on the homepage and in the header section. In this section, I would like to discuss the audio player. There is a channel thumbnail on the left, title on the right, followed by the channel link and a song that is currently playing. You can even check the tracks that were played before (up to one hour). There are ads on top of the inner page, just above the player and on the right side. Thus, leaderboard ads and skyscraper ads are two ads that you may see on this website.
Content
My Tuner has an extensive directory of radio stations from around the world. There are about 50,000 different stations, including AM, FM and online stations. Regardless of your location or what you like to listen to, there's sure to be a station that meets your needs on this network. Plus, with over a million podcasts available, you can explore new content easily. Plus, with a built-in equalizer you can improve the sound quality of each station.
Desktop/Mobile experience
What I love about myTuner is that it's straightforward. There are no complex configurations to deal with. Just visit the website or download the app from the store and start listening to music or podcasts. I used my iPhone XR to download the app, and as soon as it downloaded, it used my location to choose the country and displayed the top channels in my location. By using left or right slider options on the app, I was able to access other sections such as local, news, pop music, recommended, etc.
To listen to radio stations from other countries, tap on the flag on the upper right-hand corner and choose the country. Once you do it, you'll get suggestions consisting of Top Stations from that country.
Plans & Pricing
The myTuner app is available in two versions - free and premium. The free version has advertisements, but you can access the feature through certain tasks, such as setting an alarm, listening to a podcast, adding favorites, and so on. If you like the platform and want to avoid ads, you must make a one-time $3 payment which makes your account premium forever.
Suggestions I have for myTuner
Although I absolutely love the myTuner app, I had issues with the playback option. Turns out there is no way to use play/pause button using earphones. Thus, unlike me even if you own a phone with earphones, you'll need your screen to toggle back and forth.
Conclusion
I find myTuner to be valuable because I switched to podcasts instead of audiobooks. I would totally recommend the app to anyone who wants the best listening experience.
