Many people from my generation have been heavily criticized for using the television as a babysitter when it comes to raising their children. Although I do have some fond memories from childhood, I grew up on Nickelodeon and shows like Power Rangers. It's difficult to imagine my life without such media, even though some may argue that relying too much on TV can have negative consequences.
As a parent now myself, I can see how television shows can be beneficial. They allow us to relax and take a break from parenting, which can be tough work. While it is important to provide our children with educational programming, sometimes we need a break too. What is the harm in watching a show that makes our kids happy? We can then continue with our duties as parents in the afternoons.
I'm not saying it's okay to neglect your kids and rely entirely on cartoons to teach and occupy them. Entertainment is certainly no substitution for parenting. I'm just saying that sometimes life becomes too busy to not have a toolbox of solid children's entertainment for them to enjoy while you make sure you don't fall behind with the other necessary demands of life.
Nowadays, parents have a lot of resources at their disposal. The TV, in other words, is no longer located just in the living room. We have mobile access to content now, which means that running those pesky errands with your kids in tow has become much easier. On top of that, living in an era of tons of streaming services, there are many different routes to go when it comes to keeping our kids entertained.
If you have a Netflix account, there is a wealth of great children?s programming to choose from. However, when you are a parent, every penny counts. This is why it is important for any parent to know about all of the great streaming sites out there for kids that are 100% free of cost.
You should make sure that the site you are using to watch kids' shows is entertaining and educational, as this will increase the trust your children have in the site. There is a certain level of trust that must be built before selecting a free cartoon streaming site, and I am here to help make the process easier.
History
This is a free streaming site for kids called Seez is Kids. Their mission statement is to provide a VOD platform that focuses on the distribution of kids? videos. They help young bloggers promote kids? videos and boost their profits.
They say that for users, they offer easy-to-use services and an extensive collection of kids' videos available on PCs, tablets, and mobile devices. In these videos packed with favorite rhymes, children can learn colors and numbers, enjoy seeing other kids playing in the playground, unboxing toys, and taking funny challenges. All videos are free to watch with no registration required.
Kids makes it clear that they are deeply committed to providing high-quality, entertaining, and educational content for parents (and kids), which is why they offer their platform as a free streaming service. Furthermore, Kids is one of the few production companies out there that focuses on creating meaningful and educational content in today's media climate.
Design
The site is, I think, appropriate for children. It is fun, bursting with color and activity, and easy to navigate. The site relies more on images and thumbnails than it does text (again, a smart move for a kids? platform), and is so user-friendly that even your toddler could eventually figure out how to use it on her own without any help.
The Seez is Kids site menu bar at the top of its home page is unique in that it does not have any categories or labeled sections. Instead, the site uses pictures that are tagged to group related content together. For example, if you want to find videos about trains, you can simply click on the animated train icon. The same is true for all of the other content on the Seez is Kids home page.
Below the menus are videos in a sort of Netflix-style scrolling grid. Each grid is categorized horizontally, and contains videos based on activities such as baby songs, rhymes, learning with colored eggs, and more. The grid can be further explored by clicking on the hamburger menu on the right side of the screen.
Content
Seez is Kids is an online streaming service that offers original content. In general, the videos on this site are well made and provide engaging educational content. Some of the short shows on this site rival those seen on many major kids' cable networks. What I really appreciate about many of these videos is that they are not flashy or colorful; they are intended to help children learn.
Based on the type of content, I don't think Seez is Kids would be appropriate for children 0-4 years old. This site is geared towards children up until they hit 5 years old, but after that it may be time to find a different site that is more age-appropriate.
Desktop and Mobile Experience
The desktop experience is great. It is very easy to navigate and I love the kid-friendly design of the site. Unfortunately, there is not an Seez is Kids app at this time. Of course, an app always makes navigating content ten times easier, but there is a decent alternative.
The mobile site for Seez is very much optimized for smartphones and tablets. It is easy to use, and the streaming quality does not suffer in the slightest regardless of what device you are viewing it on.
Suggestions that I have for Seez is Kids
I would like to see Kids develop an app that is contained and safe for children. I also think it would be great if Seez is Kids offered a premium service where content could be viewed without ads.
