The Singapore National Stadium is one of the largest football stadiums in Southeast Asia, seating just under 52,000 people. The Singapore National Stadium was built to provide Singapore with a world-class sports and concert venue. It replaced the old national stadium that had stood at the same site but did not meet modern standards. The stadium has a retractable roof that can be used for football, rugby, cricket and concerts. The roof spans 310 meters and is the world's largest free-span dome.

How to get to Singapore National Stadium

The Singapore National Stadium is located in Kallang area, central Singapore. It is about 3 kilometers north-east of downtown Singapore and close to Marina Bay Sands Hotel. The Station Stadium lies adjacent to the stadium and is accessible by the Circle Line which connects with Downtown area around Marina Bay Sands hotel and northern parts of downtown area towards Orchard Road. Station Kallang, located 10 minutes away from the Stadium, is accessible by the East West Line which runs through CBD and Chinatown

Multiple buses pass by the stadium. Many of them are from the city center, including bus 10, 14, 16, 70, 70M, and 196.

Eat, drink, and sleep near Singapore National Stadium

The Singapore National Stadium is part of a complex of sports facilities and a shopping mall. There are multiple places to eat and drink in the shopping mall and stadium complex, including bars and restaurants. There are no hotels close to the stadium. Generally, it is not necessary to stay close to the stadium as public transportation is easy. If you do prefer to stay at a walking distance of the stadium, there are a few hotels along Geyland Road, but these tend to be rather basic affairs with mixed reviews.
