History and description

The stadium has a capacity of 17,000 and is used mainly for football matches. The new Stadion Miejski officially opened on November 5, 2011 with a friendly match against Wisla Plock. The stadium?s look is very similar to that of Paderborn?s Benteler Arena, having the same architect.

How to get to Stadion Miejski w Gliwicach

The stadium can accommodate a maximum of 10,000 spectators. The Gliwice Stadion Miejski is located in the north-east of Gliwice and is about 1.5 kilometres from Gliwice's main railway station. It can accommodate a maximum of 10,000 spectators. Gliwice?s old town is located a little further away, south-west of the station, and it takes about half an hour to walk there.

Alternatively, take bus 59, 60, 676 from Wroclawska Street near the Old Town. Get off at stop Poniatowskiego (59 or 60) or Targowisko (676). Bus 676 is the most frequent, but none runs more often than twice an hour.

Train connections between Gliwice and Katowice and Wroclaw are available every day. From Warsaw or Krakow, a change is necessary to reach these destinations.

Tickets for Piast Gliwice games can be bought online, at the stadium, at the club shop in Gliwice's city centre, at the Corner Press news agent in Europa Centralna shopping centre on the A4 just outside Gliwice, or from any of the Kupbilet sales points. Tickets can be bought at the ticket windows of the stadium on the day of the match for Polish citizens. Foreigners should be able to buy tickets with ID.

The prices for tickets to games vary depending on the opponent, but on average expect to pay 12 PLN for a seat behind the goal and 36 PLN for seats in the main stand. Prices can range from 16 PLN to 46 PLN for high-profile matches.
