Despite these improvements, many people do not take into account what the reality of living in the 50s or 60s would entail. For one, life was still steeped in sexism and racism, to start. Additionally, compared to today, there were no creature comforts - such as air conditioning and automobiles - available back then. However, even though racism and sexism are still present today, they have somewhat improved.
Most people who cite the 50s and 60s as their most desired time period to be alive are also addicted to social media and the other conveniences of the modern age. I mean, could you really go back to a time before Amazon? A time before Netflix, Hulu, or Prime Video? We truly have it so good right now, and, honestly, I don't think you could pay me enough to travel back much before the turn of the century (you know, if time travel were a thing).
I have immediate access to basically any TV show or movie nowadays, they are all just a couple of clicks or taps away. In fact, most of us enjoy this luxury.
