The idea that Cartons are only meant for children is not always true. Adult cartoons, such as The Simpsons, South Park, and Family Guy, have been growing in popularity, which shows that adults can enjoy animated series just as much as kids. It is also fun to revisit the cartoons of our childhood from time to time.
Nostalgia is a powerful thing. For many people, cartoons from the past were some of the funniest, most well-made shows ever made. I'm not sure how old you are, dear reader, but I grew up watching these shows; shows like Looney Tunes and Scooby-Doo, as well as all of the beloved shorts featuring iconic characters like Porky Pig, Donald Duck, Pluto, Mickey Mouse (back before he was just a mascot for Disney), Wile E. Coyote, and Tom and Jerry. All of the classics.
Nowadays there aren't nearly as many good cartoons to watch as there used to be; at least not ones that are still being produced today. It's hard to believe now, but back in the 1960s and 1970s there were dozens - maybe even hundreds - of truly brilliant cartoons out there waiting to be seen by anyone who cared to watch them. But alas... they just don't make cartoons like they used to.

I would be lying to you if I said that I never get nostalgic for these shows. The minute that I put on an episode of Scooby-Doo or Looney Tunes, I am immediately transported to my childhood home. The memories of sitting on the rug, inches away from the TV, with a bowl of cereal and laughing hysterically as Road Runner takes Wile E. Coyote off yet another cliff, or under yet another anvil flood back into my mind. Ah, it really doesn't get much better than that.
I've been able to find a lot of free cartoon streaming sites that are specifically geared towards children, but sometimes I come across a site that features a lot of my childhood shows. Sites like Super Cartoons make it easy for me to share my favorite childhood shows with my own kids, and they're also good for the occasional fun trip down memory lane.
When I see the smiles on my son's face when he sees Bugs Bunny or Tasmanian Devil, it brings me great joy. The fact that sites like this still exist is a godsend. I love being able to revisit my childhood while also sharing it with my own children.
The current state of cartoons is a far cry from the classics. And I, for one, miss the days when cartoons were still cartoons, and not CGI computer graphics or live-action remakes that blur the lines between animation and reality. Cartoons should be absurd, ridiculous, and full of imagination. This is why sites like Super Cartoons are great for those of us who have nostalgic feelings about childhood and also our own children.
History
Super Cartoons is a streaming site that has been in operation since 2012. It is difficult to find any actual history on this site, as the creators remain largely anonymous and much of the ways in which the site came to be are kept pretty under wraps. However, I can say with certainty that Super Cartoons is a popular site, as it has received numerous positive reviews from users.
It's impressive that Super Cartoons has been around for almost a decade for free. And here's to Super Cartoons sticking around another decade (and beyond!), as it is an archive of some of the most classic animated content of all time.
Design
Super Cartoons has an interesting and funky website design. When you land on the home page, you will see a sky-blue background with animated clouds softly lining the top of the page. It is not the best-looking streaming site that I have ever seen, but it feels appropriate for the content that it features. It lends the site a real air of animated fun, and I always appreciate it when a website's design mirrors in some way the content that it features.
Beyond that, the Super Cartoons website is organized fairly well. A site menu bar at the top of the page allows you to browse videos by a few different options. Simply choose between Home, Cartoons, Characters, Studios, or Series. This lets you browse the site as broadly or as specifically as you wish. The one main feature that it is blatantly missing, however, is a search bar. In case you want to type in a specific keyword and not have to click through page by page to find what it is that you are looking for, a search box would be much appreciated.
Once you click into a video on the Super Cartoon website, an embedded JW Media Player will display your content of choice. It is a very basic setup, and additional videos will be featured above the player. Simply click into a full-screen mode to become immersed in the content or minimize it to see more information and view additional videos. Each video comes with a description underneath, including a synopsis, studio and character credits, and an overall rating (given by fellow Super Cartoons users).
I think the site's design could be made more experiential. For instance, the design could resemble Netflix or YouTube, allowing for a more fluid experience of all the videos on the site. But, for what it is, Super Cartoons certainly gets the job done ? with minimal ads and zero fees or subscriptions necessary, I might add.
Content
I have already mentioned some of the great features of Super Cartoons. On this website, you will find only the best classic animations. These are fun cartoons from our childhood that are free to watch. Examples include Tom and Jerry, Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, Scooby-Doo, Donald Duck, Tasmanian Devil.
The homepage of Super Cartoons boasts that it hosts over 1,000 cartoon shorts. I hate to be the guy who is looking for things to complain about, but I do think that this archive could be expanded quite a bit. I would like to see Super Cartoons add more shows from more networks and over a broader range of time periods. The newest cartoon that you?ll find on Super Cartoons likely aired in the 1970s. And it includes no full-length episodes or movies at that.
If Super Cartoons added newer shows as well as feature-length presentations from the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s, it would make their videos even more super. However, this would create a copyright problem and could potentially hurt the site as a whole.
Desktop and Mobile Experience
Unfortunately, at this time there is no Super Cartoons app. This would greatly enhance the user experience from a mobile perspective (obviously). That being said, the site is pretty well optimized for mobile browsers. In fact, as far as free streaming sites go, Super Cartoons has one of the best mobile experiences that I have ever seen. Simply scroll down the list of titles and click into whatever you want to see without being inundated with too many ads or a clunky design. The site works well whether you are on your desktop computer, iPhone, Android, or tablet.
Pricing and Plans
Some people may not like the fact that Super Cartoons is 100% free, with minimal ads. However, adblockers can easily be used to avoid any unwanted solicitation.
Suggestions that I have for Super Cartoons
I think that it would be really great if Super Cartoons developed an app. Their site is designed well and features a lot of archived content, which would make it perfect for an app. However, I don't think this is likely to happen, given the nature of the site.
While I do think that Super Cartoons could definitely benefit by expanding their roster of shows, I also feel like they might be able to do this by upgrading their premium offering. This would give them a larger audience and allow them to continue producing high-quality content.
