Many people these days turn to streaming apps, believing them to be cord-cutting alternatives. They want the best service at an affordable price and feel that cable and satellite TV have held back the industry for too long. With so many digital streaming platforms and app options available, customers no longer need to rely on cable and satellite TV providers and pay hundreds of dollars a month for their service when they can get similar services for much less.
The rise in streaming apps has led to an influx of apps trying to gain a foothold in the competitive space. Not just independent developers, but major corporations such as AT&T, Comcast, and CBS have decided they want a piece of the pie. While there is a certain credibility to these names and their efforts towards providing quality service, one particular app that is receiving a lot of heat in recent times is the TeaTV app.
Critics say that the TeaTV app is rife with problems, from low-quality videos to malware being spread through its platform. They argue that this app does not belong in the same category as Netflix or Hulu, and should be relegated to a less competitive space.
What is TeaTV?
TeaTV is a content streaming app that allows you to watch movies online and download the content. It has high quality content from major studios around the world, and it is loved by users for some time now. You can watch the trailer, read details, learn about the cast before streaming a particular title. The platform itself feels premium because of its design sense.
What should you expect from the TeaTV App?
The TeaTv app has a lot of movies and TV shows that you can watch. It serves a wide range of audiences thanks to numerous categories, such as Adventure, Action, Crime, Comedy, Drama, Horror, Thriller, Romance, Animation, Western, Biography. You can even find content using different sections and filters such as Top Rated Movies of All Time, Top Rated TV Shows, Marvel and DC Comics.
Content availability
Honestly, I don't think the TeaTV App is anything extraordinary when you compare it to those free apps available on the internet. The number of channels, along with on-demand content, is pretty much the same. However, these services make bold claims but don't have quality links to back it up. For instance, I was able to watch HD films but couldn't find a single Anime link that worked. This shows that the developers are rather passive on the website and are just using the app as a source to generate side income.
Reliability
Can you rely on the content on the website? Yes, as long as you can get the links to work. Though the app itself is stable, the quality of links is not something to write home about. For many of the older titles and TV shows specifically, there weren't quality links that would lead me to the content in the first place.
I believe that the reliability issue stems from its inability to clean up poor links. The working links should be segregated from the poor links, and due to the developer's inactivity, the links aren't updated, which is resulting in a lower quality experience.
UI/UX
Active voice:
I think TeaTV looks premium. Its refined aesthetic sets it apart from free competitive apps and its features such as in-depth filtering options using genre, release year make finding content in no time really useful. Thus, I will give TeaTV credit where it's due. The aesthetics on this website are perfect. The menus are well-defined and the thumbnails look great on the dark background. Navigating around the website is straightforward.
are a form of marketing that are used to attract potential customers to a business.
Ads are a type of marketing that businesses use to attract potential customers.
As a user of TeaTV, you may find that adverts are unavoidable. The developers have expressed little to no interest in social service, and as a result, the platform relies heavily on ads. While I don't mind ads provided they don't impact the overall experience, TeaTV's ads are sadly intrusive and often inconsistent. Timing is also often questionable, as pre-roll ads before the stream are usually tolerable, but redirection midway through the video can be very frustrating. This indicates that TeaTV's developers are more focused on making money than providing an enjoyable experience for its users.
TeaTV App Information
Over three million users have installed this app via the Uptodown portal. This shows that the app was popular a couple of years ago. However, due to the developer's inactivity, it has lost its way. In terms of size, the app differs based upon your device. However, if you have an Android device above v4.4, you should be able to access the app without any issue.
How to access TeaTV?
There are multiple ways to access TeaTV. You can either search for the term ?TeaTV? and click on the first link you find, or you can access it directly: TeaTV. The reason I'm providing a direct link is that it's much safer to download the app from the portal above than to land on a dicey APK website filled with malware and adware.
If you download the app from any third-party website other than Uptodown, I would recommend you use a VPN. It will help you download the package anonymously and will keep your data and identity safe.
Design
While TeaTV may no longer be as dominant in the streaming space, its design is still phenomenal. The app interface - menus, navigation options, thumbnails, and content categorization - all work seamlessly together on this platform. Combined with a dark background that makes thumbnails and headers standout, TeaTV easily ranks among the best streaming platforms around. Every category can be browsed in-depth using the arrow button towards the right. In terms of design, TeaTV is right up there with the best of them and there's no doubt about that.
App Homepage
The app homepage has several sections that catch your attention. First, the header section with its Chromecast option. If you click on the Chromecast badge, youâll find options such as âDiscoverâ, âMoviesâ, âTV Showsâ, âHD Releasesâ, âCalendarâ, and âLive TV.â Under these there are general user options such as âCollectionâ, âWatchlistâ, and âAccount.â At the bottom of the homepage there are four options - âDiscoverâ, âMoviesâ, âTV Showsâ, and Anime. There are no headers or sliders on the homepage and it starts with sections such as "DC Extended" "Reddit Top 2017?" and "IMDB Top Rated."
Inner Pages
The first says, ?In Bumblebee, a young robot becomes the only hope for saving his colony from being shut down.? The second says, ?In this family film, when Cindy's little brother becomes sick, she has to take him to Mexico for treatment. But once they're there and the sun starts to set, she starts having scary dreams about the baby being kidnapped.?
The inner pages of the app follow the brand guidelines and have a graphic standard set on the homepage. The streaming page starts with three options at the top- Back Navigation, Chromecast, and Search bar. Under that is video stream followed by crucial information such as "Title", "Genre", "Release Year", "Ratings", "Runtime", and CTA button that reads: Watch Now. Under that is "Trailer", "Watchlist" and "Collection." As you scroll further, you will see a synopsis for every title you click on. For instance I clicked on Bumblebee and found two short paras summarizing the content. The first says: In Bumblebee, a young robot becomes the only hope for saving his colony from being shut down. The second says: In this family film, when Cindy's little brother becomes sick, she has to take him to Mexico for treatment. But once they're there and the sun starts to set, she starts having scary dreams about the baby being kidnapped.
Content
However, due to not being accessible, this is one aspect that we can't really take credit for.
Despite being full of content, TeaTV's streams are often not working properly. Therefore, it's hard to bragging about the depth of the content when you cannot access it. In spite of this deficit however, TeaTV does have over 500 popular titles.
Desktop/Mobile experience
I was really looking forward to using TeaTV as a streaming platform, especially because of the high quality HD videos that it offers. However, I was very disappointed when I couldn't get the app to work. The movies and TV shows played fine on my device, but the live TV part wasn't up to par. So, overall I wasn't quite disappointed.
Suggestions I have for TeaTV
If you?re still a part of the TeaTV community, there?s a lot you can still do to help the platform grow. You created a great platform, and if you keep up the good work it has the potential to become even more successful than Terrarium TV. Especially because most of the developers are banking on Terrarium TV's decline, TeaTV has a chance to take advantage of this opportunity and reach a larger audience of free steam lovers.
Conclusion
Despite spending countless hours working on their platform, TeaTV has not been able to achieve the level of success they desire. Their app could really use some quality links in order to grab the attention of potential users, but with good optimization I see no reason why this platform can't gain a following and become mainstream. All it needs is a little dedication from the developers, so give it a shot if you're curious!
