Since the golden age of film and television has arrived, we have an abundance of great options for watching great movies and TV shows. No matter where we are or what we are doing, we always have access to the best shows and films.
I believe that the quality of shows and movies available to us has increased over time because of the rise in streaming apps. Film and television studios have had to produce better content as there is now more competition. This increased competition has led to the production of more amazing shows and movies.
With new production studios now on the scene, every film and TV studio has been forced to raise their game in order to compete. In my opinion, a lot of this recent increase in quality is due to Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video putting out award-winning and critically acclaimed content that is exclusively available on their streaming platforms. And with the success of these aforementioned streaming services, now everyone seems to want a piece of the pie.
Today there are many new premium streaming apps and original streaming services being created all the time. This has caused space to become more competitive than ever, making it difficult for consumers to decide which ones are worth subscribing to. Both positives and negatives come with this increase in competition, but it's still up to each individual to make the best choice for themselves.
There are other important factors such as the app's design and User Interface.
I believe that the number one concern when selecting a streaming app is finding a variety and quality of content. I think, above all else, if a streaming app does not offer the shows and movies that we want to see, there is little use in downloading it. The first thing we should look at before making our decision is content. But this is not the only factor we should consider. We should also look at the app's design and User Interface.
I believe that the most important aspect of a streaming app is how well it is designed and what kinds of features it offers. A user-friendly, intuitive, dependable way of delivering titles can make a great app even better, so you want your streaming app to provide excellent user experience, great design, and tons of useful features that make your movie and TV binging as enjoyable as possible.
Then, of course, there is the matter of price. Because almost every premium streaming app comes with a cost. Even the free ones will make you watch ads and commercials. So, after youâve taken into account content, quality and features, you also have to make sure that you get what youâre paying for. Most streaming apps are reasonably priced (between $5 and $10 a month), but there are some out there that push towards $20/month. And in my opinion, a streaming app has to do quite a bit for it to be worth that kind of money.
Vudu is a great app that you don't have to pay for. Simply download it, create an account, and enjoy thousands of movies and TV shows for free with only commercials.
History
Vudu was founded on January 1st, 2004. Since then, it has primarily been a streaming service with a box model that is outdated. However, in March of 2010, Vudu was acquired by Walmart.
Design
I really like the design of Vudu. It has a refreshing theme that makes it stand out from other premium streaming apps of its type. Although it has the standard black background, the refreshing splashes of bright blue differentiate it from the others. Vudu looks great, and it functions even better than most.
I really like the layout of Vudu. It is simple and practical, with a few main categories at the top of the app: Home, Rentals, Deals, TV, Kids, and then a few select genres. Just click the tab of what you are looking for and browse from a new set of thumbnail images.
If you're a Vudu subscriber, you'll be happy to know that they've included a new parallel user menu at the bottom of the app. This menu has features like Spotlight (featured films and shows, Search, My Vudu, Free, and Settings.), which makes it one of the most user-friendly and intuitive premium streaming apps on the market today.
Content
Vudu is a great choice for anyone looking for a variety of movie and TV show options. They have a large selection from all the major studios, as well as some independent films. They also have Disney Plus, which is one way to watch Disney movies.
Despite the fact that there are movies and shows available to stream with your Vudu membership, the majority of the content that Vudu has to offer is titles that can be rented or purchased digital copies of directly from the app. This is an aspect of Vudu that sets it apart from the rest of the premium streaming apps on the market, and it is something like a completely digital version of Blockbuster with some elements of Netflix thrown in.
Vudu allows you to download your movies and shows so that you can watch them offline, as well as linking other streaming accounts to create a single location for all of your content.
Pricing and Plans
I know that I said a little while ago that Vudu was a completely free streaming app. And that's not entirely misleading. It is free to download, free to use, and there is a solid selection of free content for you to stream. However, where Vudu makes the bulk of their money comes from the fact that most titles are only available to stream via renting or buying. This model might not be for everyone, but by doing it this way, Vudu is able to offer a much larger selection than many of the other streaming apps out there. Prices of the movies, of course, differ depending on how new and popular they are.
Suggestions that I have for Vudu
I think that Vudu's main goal of offering digital movies is a success. Personally, I don't like the idea of having to purchase or rent my movies in the digital age. I think it is antiquated and should offer an alternate way of consuming content. For example, why not give us the option to pay per month and have access to a broader range of titles without needing to purchase or rent them?
